What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a cutting-edge, evidence-based form of trauma therapy designed to help individuals process distressing experiences in a safe, effective, and empowering way. As a practitioner trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), I offer a therapeutic approach that uses guided visualization and soothing eye movements to help release the tension, emotional distress, and anxiety tied to traumatic experiences often without needing to speak in detail about painful memories.

ART works by helping the brain reprocess traumatic memories so that emotional reactions can be separated from the facts of the experience. This allows the memory to be stored safely in long-term memory without triggering overwhelming emotional responses. Many clients find ART to be a gentle yet powerful alternative to traditional trauma-focused therapies.

What to expect in an ART session

ART sessions are structured, collaborative, and client-centered. You remain fully awake, aware, and in control throughout the process. During a session, I guide you through visualization exercises while you follow slow, rhythmic eye movements designed to calm the nervous system and support emotional processing.

You are never required to share more than you feel comfortable with. The focus is on how your body and mind respond, rather than reliving or retelling traumatic events.

Many clients notice a reduction in emotional intensity, trauma triggers, and physical tension. Over time, ART can help create a sense of relief, emotional clarity, and renewed control, allowing you to move forward without being held back by unresolved trauma.
